Quality Assurance

Overview

The ETQA Division commits to support, evaluate, monitor & audit the quality of education and training provision within the CHIETA’s primary focus in a transparent & accountable manner in line with SAQA requirements.

The Chemical Industries Education and Training Authority (CHIETA) was accredited by South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) in April 2001 to carry out the Education and Training Quality Assurance Body (ETQA) functions for the Chemical Industries Sector. The ETQA’s main purpose is to monitor and audit learning achievements in terms of standards / qualifications as registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).

The ETQA Regulations (1998) clearly define the functions of ETQAs as to accredit education and training providers, certify learners, register assessors and moderators. The CHIETA ETQA provides developmental support to its education and training providers, in order for them to achieve their provider accreditation status.
