Overview
The purpose of the Research and Skills Planning division is to build a credible research institution by managing and sustaining a credible research and skills planning framework. The Research and Skills Planning division maintains its excellent track record by continuing to improve on a consistent basis.
They produce a Five-Year Sector Skills Plan, based on the Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report information received from levy paying companies on an annual basis. This plan is updated on an annual basis and provides:
- Strategic priorities
- Skills priorities and needs
- The funding matrix that informs and guides CHIETA’s strategic plan
- The annual performance plans
- Discretionary Grants funding within the Chemical Sector
The Research and Skills Planning Division achieves its purpose is through output indicators provided below:
- Providing annual WSP and ATR data analysis and reporting (number of WSPs received from Large, Medium and Small firms)
- The SSP is well researched for providing a credible institutional mechanism for skills planning
- Funding support to 3 Industry University partnerships
- A total of 5 Research Reports inclusive of Research Partnerships
- Update and maintain the nine subsector skills plans, which represent our chambers
- Maintain the Track and Trace System for graduates (including all learning programmes in the sector)
Our Stakeholders
The Research and Skills Planning Division services a number of stakeholders including:
- The Chambers (comprise of the 9 subsectors that represent the chemical sector),
- Chemical sector member companies,
- Researchers
- Higher Education and Training Institutions
- Previously Disadvantaged Institutions at PHD and Post-Doctorate Level
- Government Departments (such as Department of Higher Education and the Department of Trade and Industry)
