The Chemical Industries Education and Training Authority (CHIETA) is a statutory body established by the Skills Development Act (1998), through the Department of Labour.

The Chemical SETA has been established to facilitate skills development in the chemical industries sector and ensure that the skills needs are identified and addressed through a number of initiatives by the SETA and the sector.

• Assisting designated groups, including news entrants, to participate on accredited work, integrated learning and work-based programs to acquire critical skills to enter the labour market and self employment
